Yoga and mindfulness have transformed my life significantly, prompting me to take voluntary redundancy in 2019 and pursue teaching professionally to share the insights I've gained. My background includes 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a scientist, where I developed a deep fascination with how the biology of the body and mind interact to shape our experiences—and how we can leverage that through mindfulness coaching.
I began my journey with yoga around 2003, seeking stress relief from my husband's chronic illness. Initially, it was one of the few places where I could find peace. When my beloved yoga teacher retired, I started hearing from others that I should consider teaching. After the seventh suggestion, I began to wonder if I could indeed do it. I completed my Ayurvedic Yoga teacher training in 2019. In 2018, my workplace provided me with a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course, allowing me to offer guided meditations to stressed colleagues during lunch breaks, as they recognized the wealth of evidence supporting that meditation improves focus and reduces stress.
I hold a degree in environmental science and was a parliamentary candidate for the Green Party in the Broxbourne constituency in 2017. Additionally, I cared for my mother with Alzheimer's for three years, which taught me to maintain calm in the face of her distress and confusion. Today, I am excited to offer yoga classes and wellbeing resources that can help others find their own paths to peace.
